Placeholder notice: this draft accurately describes what Motalkz collects and why, based on how the app is actually built, but it hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer and still needs a real contact/entity filled in (marked [fill in]). Get it reviewed — especially for GDPR/CCPA obligations — before opening the app to the public.

This Privacy Policy explains what Motalkz collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. It applies to members and to guests who open a Chemistry Challenge link without an account.

1. What we collect

2. How we use it

To operate core features: your profile, messages, calls, connections, and the guided features (compatibility, conversation help, Wingman, date planning, speed dating, Chemistry Challenge).
To enforce the age gate and act on reports (including underage reports, which are prioritized).
To generate short, feature-specific AI text — for example a compatibility summary or a Chemistry Challenge result — using only the limited content relevant to that feature, sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) for that single purpose. We don't hand your full profile or message history to the AI provider, and we don't use your content to train anyone's models.
To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. Who we share it with

Other members — only what your profile and privacy settings make visible to them (for example, deeper profile details unlock only once you're mutually connected).
Supabase — our database, authentication, file storage, and realtime infrastructure provider. They host the data described above on our behalf.
Anthropic (Claude) — receives the specific text needed to generate an AI-assisted feature's result, as described above.
A TURN relay service — if configured, helps two members' devices connect a call when a direct connection isn't possible. It relays encrypted call traffic; it doesn't store call content.

We don't share your data with anyone else except where required by law.

4. Chemistry Challenge guests

If you open a Chemistry Challenge link without a Motalkz account, the name and answers you submit are stored only long enough to generate the shared result, tied to that one link's token — not to any device or contact identifier — and expire automatically after 7 days. Nothing about you is added to Motalkz's member database unless you separately choose to sign up.

5. Your choices

Delete your content — Settings lets you self-delete your messages, photos, stories, and other content at any time.
Delete your account entirely — email [fill in: support email]; a small number of removal steps require administrative action we don't expose directly in the app.
Block or report — available from any profile.

Some records — reports filed against you, and blocks someone else placed on you — are trust & safety records we keep even after other data is deleted, since they aren't yours alone to erase.

6. Children's privacy

Motalkz is for adults 18 and older only, enforced at signup by date of birth (checked both in the app and in the database). We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we determine an account belongs to a minor, we suspend it and remove the profile data associated with it.

7. Security

We use industry-standard practices (encrypted connections, access-controlled database policies) to protect your data, but no service can guarantee absolute security.

We'll update the date above when this policy changes; material changes will be called out in the app.
